tres chic

our girls participated in a fashion show this past weekend at the convention center...of course it was one of those days when the camera battery died and the charger was suddenly nowhere to be found...so had to use my camera phone to capture the moment after the event.

a picture of papa & tutu--our biggest supporters in everything!

lua, papa, tolu, tutu, kahi

at least the first pic of papa & tutu came out relatively clear...this one, not so much, but you get the idea...glad i could capture this memory for my girls anyhow...we're definitely looking forward to seeing the professional photos from the event! ...and that's all she wrote! :)

the busy-ness and the blessings...

our family's schedule has been so full lately, and yet the Lord is ever-mindful and gives us enough energy and the organizational skills to pack it all in...

it reminds me of something my kids would say when they see something beautiful in world--like this sunset, for instance... they often say, "see how much the Lord loves us?"

A bit of this and a bit of that

so the blog list has returned...all on it's own...yee haw! will develop this post a bit more later...on my way to work again...in the meantime, ponder on this:

a little blast from the past (december 1989 to be exact) provided by an old teammate christine... we were on the first imua squad to go to a national competition... (we came in 2nd btw) lol
note the ever-so-poofy 80's hair on all of us...

here we were at the airport ready to go...

here's christine and me at mcd's in missouri--where we first learned that fruit punch is NOT available in all 50 states... ha!

...and one of my best friends from high school, heather and me--gotta be local or loco to be wearing shorts when it's snowing outside...

Who when cockaroach my blog list?

So I'm looking over my page...and I notice there's no one listed on my blog list anymore...Perhaps it was lost in translation when I changed my background??? So solly...I'll rectify that as soon as I can...(but gotta go work right now).

P.S. Kat--We're thinking of you and your little ohana!

image game

saw this on kanaboke's blog and had to play. these are the directions: "for each question, look up the answer in a google image search. then choose your favorite image from the FIRST page of results only."

Here we go:

MY AGE

lol check out the tail...perhaps that'll help

A PLACE I'D LIKE TO TRAVEL TO

the funny thing about this picture is that it was taken here, where i live... don't wanna travel merely to the other side of the same rock, but surely wanna go where this guy came from...

MY FAVORITE OBJECT

(or what appears on my favorite object--i'm here, arent' i?! lol)

MY FAVORITE ANIMAL

MY FAVORITE COLOR

i now bleed maroon, but i was born blue & white...

THE TOWN WHERE I LIVE

haha this was taken in new york! if you look closely above the signature, you might catch it.

A PAST PET
funny thing is, these are animated in this picture! (see favorite object)... i had the live kine... at least up until hurricane iwa... came home, no power for their pump, all gone--bye, bye!

A PAST LOVE

believe it or not, i was on the first imua squad to go to a national competition! ...back in the day... haha wish we got to go to disneyworld in our "day" but what an experience nonetheless!

MY BEST FRIENDS NICKNAME

no it's not disc...it's part of her hawaiian name...do you see it yet?

MY SCREEN NAME

oh my gosh...this is too funny...kanaboke, recognize these kids? i googled my screen name and there were only pics of your keiki there! chose this particular one 'cause my favorite kids i haven't met yet are in front of my favorite backdrop with da snow on top!

MY FIRST NAME

so i did a check...and i share the same name as the girl--not the horse! lol

MY MIDDLE NAME

this was interesting...typed in the whole thing (hawaiian and chinese) and this is what i got...alrighty then...next!

MY LAST NAME

i was actually expecting the coat of arms, but this building is named after an ancestor of my hubby's!

ONE OF MY BAD HABITS

can you guess? um, wait. tell me later.

MY FIRST JOB

yes, i was a turtle (just kidding)... no, i didn't deal with animals (not even of the party variety since it was a church school)... this was the job i had before i worked at the polynesian cultural center... betchya can't guess...

MY GRANDMOTHERS NAME

look at the redhead in the red dress if you need a hint...

MY COLLEGE DEGREE

nifty diagram

WHAT I'M DOING RIGHT NOW

...and not of the pitch-a-tent variety! (see favorite object again)...

Now you go start an image search, go, go start um, go...

a wedding

groom, bride (j5), and bride's parents (my sis and bro-in-law)

the newlyweds with their two sons...

groom with his dad and siblings-he's the youngest of 8; mom was at the chapel decorating the cultural hall for our ono meal afterward (hawaiian food by the koki's)

bride with her parents and siblings (my sis, bro-in-law, and their seven children)

lua, me, tolu, hubby, & kahi after the wedding

brothers (j7 & j1) & dad of the bride

8 of my sister's 10 grandkids (the other two are in louisiana)--it took quite a few shots before we even got them to look in the vicinity of a (not necessarily the) camera...
